Who Am I?
Well for starters I’m flattered you made it this far. Hi! I’m Amanda. I hope I get to meet you.
I have been in the dental field and working as a hygienist for over 19 years. Yes, that is a long time. I really enjoy what I do and until I update this I am still seeing patients clinically that I have known for almost two decades. I really love building relationships with people and helping them to achieve better health.
After a while it felt like I was missing something and could be doing more to help. Research lead me in several directions and one of them was Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. This was a field I was fascinated with as I myself experienced several of the symptoms I shared with you on the first page. (And yes I am still going through my own health journey, so I can identify with yours.) I am a life long learner and dove headfirst into all the information I could find.
I realized I see so many people that have Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders. I feel very strongly that this is an under diagnosed issue and I want to bring awareness to it. Most people I talk to have never even heard of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy much less realize that it can help them. That is what inspired me to become a Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist.
My goal is to be a part of your healthcare puzzle and help you address the root cause of several issues. If we can do that and alleviate some of your symptoms, I can’t promise all of them, then we can have you feeling better and lessen what you still need to solve.
I hope you give Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy a chance. Whatever your choice I wish you the best on your quest for better health.
Amanda J. Abrahamsen
